Happy Hump Day!

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas oatmeal…

Nope not oatmeal, I dare not go there again.

DSCN4092

This would be blueberry greek yogurt with a slice banana and granola I got from TJ’s, but not the pumpkin kind. This kind tastes like a vanilla wafer…. yummmm

The Monster Mash :)

DSCN4095

I am sad to say that about 20 minutes after I ate the joyful mash but tummy wasn’t so joyful, it was STARVING!!! :( Maybe for a snack and not breakfast??!!

I got caught up in work and before I knew it, it was lunchy time. I had a platter of food and was so ready for it.

DSCN4096

First up was an AWESOMEEEEE sammie w/ turkey, cheese, mustard and buffalo sauce all on an arnold…. ask RR would say… YUMM-O!

DSCN4097

TJ’s wheat crackers

DSCN4098

carrots

DSCN4099

sugar snap peas… ick :(

DSCN4100

and hummus

DSCN4101

for a little snacky-poo I had this little pack of trail mix

DSCN4102

I have decided I will probably not buy this again. The nuts were not really crisp and sort of on the soggy side. I can probably make my own that’s better. Oh well, it’s still fun to eat.

Then out came an apple and a raspberry fruit bar

DSCN4104

So, let me tell you about dinner. It was amazing.

DSCN4105

I had chicken in masala simmer sauce on top of ginger flavored noodles from TJ’s. Can you tell I love TJ’s?!

DSCN4107

salad with baby spring and spinach, General Tso’s crispy wonton strips and raspberry vinaigrette

and a side of cherry maters

DSCN4108

and celery

DSCN4109

I was stuffed. Probably too much than I would have liked.

I love eating veggies, but they are just so hard to remember. Fruit is so much prettier than veggies, but I am making an effort to get more in than I have been.

Off to cuddle with my baby….

DSCN4125

he’s sooo cute ;)

Catching Up!!!

Things have been crazy busy the past week so I haven’t been able to blog like I have wanted to. I have also been forgetting to “pull” my camera out, so some meals/days are un-pictured so I am just going to pick up where I left off and hopefully won’t let this happen again.

One thing I have realized on my own, without the blog to show me, is that I do not eat nearly enough vegetables. I love fruit and have no problem eating it and can have a fruit for a snack but veggies… forget about it. I am going to try and get more veggies in daily.

I have been sick for the past couple of days. I went home early yesterday from work and stayed home today. It really is amazing at what a little rest can do. I feel tons better from taking it easy and being lazy.

This morning I decided to make some oatmeal. I have not liked any oatmeal in the past so I thought it was weird I wanted it this morning. The hub LOVES oatmeal so I grabbed one of his brown sugar & cinnamon packs.

DSCN4066

I also added a tablespoon of peanut butter

DSCN4065

and some Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Spice Granola=heaven

DSCN4078

DSCN4064

gave it all a stir and took one bite! It was actually really good and I thought to myself I have finally found and oatmeal combo that I can eat. And then eat bite kept getting grosser and grosser. ICK! I ate maybe 1/4 before deciding oatmeal is not for me and just to give it up. Just thinking about it now makes me feel sick to my stomach. Blah!

I wasn’t really hungry anymore so I just decided to eat again when I got hungry. Since I was laying around all day, hunger didn’t really hit until lunch time. Yay! That will never happen again.

Lunch was sooo yummy and sooo satisfying

DSCN4073

I had a sandwich with turkey, cheese, mustard and buffalo wing sauce on an Arnold This pressed on the George Forman

DSCN4074

look at that ooey gooey-ness. Holla!!!

I also had some carrots

DSCN4075

crackers

DSCN4077

and some artichoke and garlic hummus

DSCN4076

The hummus wasn’t that bad but I don’t think I will buy this again. I will just stick with my Sabra hummus.

The rest of my afternoon consisted of laying on the couch, watching tv, laying in bed, napping, watching some more tv. Gotta love sick days :)

Mid-afternoon I started to get a little hungry

I had some TJ’s Strawberry Yogurt O’s, TJ’s Pumpkin Spice Granola with milk

DSCN4079

I hated the Yogurt O’s. They tasted weird and didn’t do the snack trick for me so I went back for…

DSCN4082

some trail mix and…

DSCN4081

I forget what these are called… Penguin Jelly Belly ?? Maybe! Both of which are also from TJ’s. :) Now that did the trick.

For dinner, I wasn’t really in the cooking mood so I made the hub a sandwich like I had for lunch and made myself a Mug-O-Soup

DSCN4087

topped with wonton strips, so good.

I also had spinach with wonton strips and raspberry vinaigrette

DSCN4085

the wonton strips are like the fried noodles you get with your soup at Chinese places. These were healthier and smaller.

DSCN4088

I also had some cherry tomatoes and celery

DSCN4086

This dinner was excellent and I think I mastered the “need more veggies” today. Go me!

I ended the night perfectly

DSCN4090

ice cream and penguins

and peanut butter filled pretzels.

Night!!!

Happy Fall, Ya’ll

Today is the first day of Fall which means we are getting close to Winter. Boo :( Halloween is 1 month and 10 days away, Thanksgiving is 2 months and 5 days away and Christmas is 3 months and 4 days away. Yikes! The holidays are just right around the corner.

On to eats…

Breakfast was boring but yummy

DSCN3999

DSCN4000

I love the “burn” of the Spicy Hot V8

I was running late for work this morning. Actually I forgot I had to stop and get gas so I didn’t have time to make my lunch so I ordered out.

What did I get?! The only places that delivers (besides pizza and Chinese). It’s a local meat and 3 type place. I got the veggie plate and an unsweet tea.

DSCN4002

mac n cheese, lima beans, biscuit, squash casserole and green beans

DSCN4001

I hated the lima beans. I always have I just thought maybe my taste buds changed. NOT! The green beans had bacon in them and I didn’t eat that and this is the best squash casserole. It has tomatoes and zucchini in it as well as, duh, squash.

For a snack I got into the sweets

DSCN4008

candy corn and trail mix

DSCN4009

and a caramel covered apple flavored sucker (I forget what these are called but they are one of my favorites).

Now on to dinner and I must say PUBLIX DID IT AGAIN!!! First with awesome pizza dough and now the AWESOME SUBS!!! Tonight was my first time having a sub from Publix and I know it won’t be the last.

DSCN4010

I had the half veggie sub on 5 grain bread with a little mayo, white american cheese, lettuce, onion, bell pepper, olives, pickles, tomatoes, jalapenos, banana peppers, and vinegar.

DSCN4011

and a bag of Dirty Mesquite BBQ chips

DSCN4012

I loved the freshness of the subs. You could just taste it and not to mention I saw the lady behind the counter chop up a head of lettuce right in front of me and didn’t pull out a bag of shredded lettuce. I also liked how you had the option to pick which meat you wanted from the deli case. So cool!!! These chips were amazing too!!!

I am off to finish watching Dancing With the Stars!!!

Night!!!

Back to regularly scheduled blogging…

This has been a fun weekend, but just like any other weekend, I am sad to see it go. On Thursday,my sister and nephew came into town and surprised me at work. It was great. Work let me leave early to spend some time with her. Yay! I forgot to take pictures of everything I ate so I just decided I would start back today. I hope once I get use to blogging again, it will get easier remembering my camera.

So here it goes…

I actually slept in this morning until 9:45! That is like an all time record for me. I was so excited but wish I slept longer. I laid in bed for a few hours and talk to the hub so I skipped breakfast.

For lunch I had a peanut butter and jelly on an arnold thin

DSCN3980

hummus and pita chips

DSCN3979

and a yummy nectarine

DSCN3982

DSCN3978

for desert I had a chocolate chip cookie

DSCN3983

Today, I just kinda hung around the house and did laundry. Yuck! The hub and I also watched Glee. I had seen the first two episodes but the hub had not so he watched those while I had a cat nap on the couch and then we watched the third episode together. I think I am really going to like this show. Maybe?!

Tonight the hub and I were going to go eat and then go to the grocery but we saw a storm rolling in and did not want to get out in the rain. :)

We decided to sit out on our back patio and watch it roll in.

DSCN3988

DSCN3990

You can see the beautiful sky once the storm passed a few miles away.

DSCN3993

While dinner was cooking we had some appetizers and watched the storm.

DSCN3984

mild cheddar cheese, turkey pepperoni, salsa cheese, crackers and apple

along with a beer

DSCN3987

DSCN3992

It was very nice and we sat out there probably 45 minutes before the storm “hit us”.

Dinner was simple and easy and didn’t require me to stand over the stove the whole time.

Veggie bowties with Newman’s Own pasta sauce with mild cheddar shredded on top.

DSCN3996

I also had a slice of bread with a little butter, but only ate 1/3 of the bread.

DSCN3997

After dinner I had another cookie :)

DSCN3998

I’ve got to go get ready for bed and work tomorrow! Night!
